The Yellow~Ribbons Project - Quilters who care

Date: Mon, 04 Mar 2002 23:36:26 -0500
From: "Jan Drechsler" <quiltdoc@sover.net>

If it were my quilt top, the red would be removed, a template made,
and the
nasty red would be cut into tiny bits, never to be used again. Even
with
Retayne, what happens if your friend quilts it, leaves the red in,
and after
several washes, the red runs again? Red can be nasty; over & over
again.

Remove the feedsack white and use a non-bleach whitening agent. Sew
it back
in with your repro fabric and it is set for another 70 years.

Good luck.
