Notes on the quilts were taken by Karen Dever (with our thanks) and I've put them into a database format. Click here to download the notes in Excel.

Other things we discussed:

1.Wild By Design: 200 Years Of Innovation And Artistry In American Quilts a show of quilts from the book of the same name. February 16 - June 3, 2007 Carol & Louis Della Penna Gallery, New Hope

I'm going to look into the possibility of meeting there in March. This is not at the main museum in Doylestown, but at a new location in New Hope PA. I don't yet know what kind of facility they have.

2. Our July meeting will be our Mid-Summer getaway in CT, 7/17 - 7/18. Payment of $75.00 for entrance to the museums (lodging and meals is extra) is due to Sue Reich (who is co-ordinating this special event for us) by the March meeting. We will go to some of the smaller museums in CT. that have many quilts, and were on the special tours at AQSG seminar this past October. Even some of us who attended seminar didn't get to see these museums and quilts.

Since space is limited to 25 people, we are opening it first to our regular attendees. After the March meeting (the 20th) we will offer any open slots to the folks who usually only come to our special events.

3. We had been planning for and hoping to sponsor a Regional Quilt Study Day at the Howell Living History Museum in Mercer County, just south of Lambertville.  Susan Devore, the education co-ordinator there attended our meeting and told us sadly that they couldn't absolutely promise that we could hold our event there on September 22nd (Saturday) as we had planned, because the barn may not be finished in time and they might not have their Certificate of Occupancy or have had their ribbon-cutting ceremony by then. I will look for another place to hold this special "show and tell" day for the public, but we will hope to have a firm answer, yea or nay, from Howell Living History Museum by the end of June. That will give us 2 1/2 months to make final plans, and if our printed material is ready to go, assuming we find an alternate venue, we can go ahead as planned.

4. Sue Reich was part of a special 4-day quilt event in Stamford, CT held at United Housewrecking, an architectural salvage business. Sue gave her lecture, slide show and quilt show of World War II quilts to about 75 people.

5. NJ State Quilt Guild 2007 convention/show Jersey Gems June 7-9, 2007 10:00 am - 5:00 pm at the NJ Convention & Expo Center, Edison, NJ 500+ Quilts & Wearables, Cash prizes, 50+ vendors Workshops with Mark Lipinski, June Colburn & many more Raffle Quilt, Special Exhibits, Youth Interactive Area Bus Trips Welcome Free Parking Karen Dever has been asked to mount a special show of antique quilts. We had some incredible desserts -- 6 or 7 of them! Vicki made a white chocolate/ raspberry cheesecake, and virtually everything else had chocolate of some kind or another . I've collected recipes for 3 of them so far. If those of you who have cooked for us in the past would like to send your recipe, I can put together a recipe notebook for us, possibly adding pages of our good eats at each meeting.

Thanks to Dana for bringing her chairs once more. It is amazing how we always have just the right number of people to fit around that table with chairs aplenty for them to sit upon.
