My > estimate is 1870s-1880s. The center is made of two full panels flanked by > two shorter strips (9 & 10") to complete the pattern. The matching is so > perfect I had trouble finding the seams! The border is quilted with a > cable. (What else? It's a Lancaster County quilt <GR>!) The border is a > dark green calico that you often see in quilts from this area. The backing > is a brown 1880's print.
