Biographical Information
Quilts, their stories, and quilt makers inspire Catherine. She helped with
quilt registration and documentation for Iowa and Illinois Quilt Research
Projects. She documented textiles at the Cody Homestead after receiving a grant
from MVQG. She has course work in restoration, fabric dating, and quilt
appraisal.
Catherine’s work has been displayed in the Quad-Cities; Kalona, IA; Cedar
Falls, IA; Waterloo, IA; Lima, OH; Lincoln, NE; Clarksville, TN; Indianapolis,
IN; San Diego, CA; Austin Peavy University; and, Quilter's Newsletter Magazine.
She has won awards from the Mississippi Valley Quilter’s Guild and Iowa
Quilters Guild. She has had quilts featured in the Oct. 1994 and Dec. 1995 “Quilting
Today,” Issues 71, 79, 80 and 81 of “Traditional Quiltworks, and the Fall
1995 “Country Quilts.” Catherine is listed in “Who’s Who in Quilting in
America” by AQS, has comments in “Busy Quilter’s Survival Guide,” was a
featured collector at Quilt America in Indianapolis, IN, and lead a round table
discussion for AQSG. Her "Stars and Wishes" was selected for the
Grinnell College, IA Master Quilts Exhibit.
